Under the direction from the Regional Site Manager, the Operations Manager will ensure that company policies and procedures are followed, promote a culture of safety, support quality assurance and continuous improvement programs while ensuring all elements of the Morgan Code of Conduct are achieved. The Operations Manager will be the site leader who fosters an atmosphere of teamwork, accountability and employee development.
Responsibilities
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing department operations including: EHS/Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operational Excellence.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity in the manufacturing process.
- Assures efficient utilization of equipment and facilities.
- Ensures expenditures are maintained within budget limitations.
- Establishes operating schedules for highly fluctuating product requirements.
- Responsible for selection, hiring and development of the management team. Participates in performance calibrations and recommends merit increases, promotions and transfers.
- Assures compliance with Company and Plant policies, health and safety standards, environmental regulations, hazardous waste, and good housekeeping practices.
- Continuously reviews ongoing performance within area of responsibility and acts to assure achievement of goals.
- Works with appropriate individuals to plan business objectives, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
- Manages policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and plant performance.
- Assures compliance with quality and process specifications.
- Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Behaves responsibly and ethically in all matters, presenting a high level of authenticity and engagement.
- Evaluates performance of Site Management Team for compliance with establish policies and objectives of division and contributions in attaining objectives.
- Supports and participates in management review meetings per ISO requirements
- Assures compliance with Company and Plant policies, health and safety standards, environmental regulations, hazardous waste, and good housekeeping practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across business units, departments, and various levels of management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of experience as a supervisor or manager in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- 7 years experience in a manufacturing facility or industrial setting
- Ability to lead and inspire a team to collaborate and maximize team capability
- Experience working within a high paced environment
- Must possess solid organization, communications, presentation skills, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
- Ability to perform as a Leader and Collaborator and the ability to communicate comfortably at all levels of the organization is essential.
- Advanced MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management and good report writing and data analysis skills
- This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Individual must be a:o Citizen of the United States, oro Permanent resident alien of the United States, oro Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS degree in engineering. (ceramic, chemical, electrical, mechanical, textile, industrial, or polymer & fibre) is desired. Experience in lieu of education will be considered
- Lean manufacturing or Operational Excellence experience a plus
Physical Qualifications:
- Must be capable of sitting and using a computer for a considerable portion of an 8-hours workday.
- Must be capable of walking throughout the facility and property to check on employees and equipment.
- Must be able to physically wear personal protective equipment such as, but limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, respirator and steel toe boots.
