Field Service Technician - Gas Compression Packages

As a Field Service Technician you'll handle basic to advanced maintenance tasks on gas compression packages. Your duties will include learning from experienced technicians, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, installing, and commissioning gas-fired and electric compressor packages. This role serves as a stepping stone to becoming a Field Service Technician II.

Pay: $25-40/hr

Location: EL Reno, OK - MUST LIVE IN EL RENO OR REASONABLY COMMUTE

Responsibilities:

• Submit daily reports and paperwork accurately.
• Offer basic leadership and training to new technicians.
• Efficiently diagnose engine and compressor failures.
• Provide input on personnel and material needs for job planning.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs in the field with limited supervision, even in adverse conditions.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and basic controls.
• Assist in installing new units with minimal supervision.
• Conduct mechanical inspections independently using specialized tools.
• Be on call for emergency repairs.
• Be prepared for frequent travel, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications:

• 2 YEARS OF GAS COMPRESSION EXPEREINCE REQUIRED
• High school diploma or equivalent with some vocational/technical experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar Gas Engine Rating Pro (GERP) and similar software.
• Experience with a variety of natural gas compressor packages and related components.
• Preferably certified in relevant areas such as CAT Gas I, CAT Gas II, CAT Electrical, Ariel Basic, Ariel Mechanical, CAT 3500 ADEM III and IV, CAT 3500ULB and J, Waukesha VHP.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work under pressure and collaboratively with a team.
• Capable of lifting, pulling, and pushing at least 75 lbs.
• Able to stand, kneel, bend, and stretch during equipment repairs.
• Comfortable working in various climates and temperatures.
