DESCRIPTION

We are now recruiting for a Director in Credit Derivative Trade Support (CRD TSG). The Director is a team leader for Flow, Structured Credit and Securitized Derivative products and works closely with the Business Units and Infrastructure management in realizing the Firm's objectives.
The role requires a high level of risk management awareness and guardianship. The candidate needs to demonstrate they can take ownership of initiatives and make pragmatic and sometimes difficult decisions based on sound judgment in complex situations, which serve the best long-term interests of the organization.
The candidate needs to fully understand the Business Unit requirements and objectives, provide advice/recommendations as appropriate and help drive prioritization. The individual will need to work effectively across geographical and functional boundaries and develop strong relationships and networks across the firm. Well-tuned client skills are essential.
The Credit Derivative Trade Support Group plays a key role in front to back support of a broad range of Credit Derivative products including but not limited to Single name and Index (CDS, CMBX, ITraxx) Credit Default Swaps, Total Return Swaps, CDS Options, Index and Bespoke Tranches and Structured Notes.
This group provides important controls to ensure that P&L generation and risk is accurately captured. The successful candidate will be liaising with Trading, Sales, Legal, Finance Controllers, and Operations departments so that the trade is correctly booked in the risk system. The TSG is the conduit for all post execution information flow to other operational departments. The candidate will also work with IT, projects groups and management to improve systems and processes and incorporate the latest industry initiatives and best practices. The lead will be responsible for responding to regulatory inquiries as required and attest to the completeness and accuracy of responses and submission. The position includes:
  • Partnering closely with the Trading and Sales to provide the first level of control and escalation
  • Responsible in ensuring that the trade bookings are correctly reflected in the trading risk systems and tie out with the Counterparty
  • Ensuring that all trades are booked and confirmed as intended by checking the Trading system verses internal MS systems, liaising with Trading, Sales, Brokers or the Counterparty directly
  • Intermediary between the Trading desk and other areas of the Bank. Controllers, Settlements and Confirmations areas will come to you to discuss and resolve issues to ensure that breaks are resolved effectively
  • Responsible for ensuring current controls are followed, manage critical projects or process improvements with IT and Projects Groups
  • Analyze and break down ambiguous or complex issues into concrete deliverables and takes responsibility for ensuring deliverables are met
  • Provide training and direction to more junior specialists
  • Understanding risk implications of Fixed Income operations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Ability to evaluate and identify areas of risk across the organization. Identify and implement best practices and in some cases help shape the risk and project agenda
  • A willingness to engage in a wide range of issues at all levels of detail will be vital
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be flexible to changing priorities and demonstrate good organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently across all levels. Ability to confidently face off to senior management across divisions
  • Good interpersonal skills to build cross-divisional relationships; gain support and respect from key stakeholders (Business Unit, Operations, FCG , Legal & Compliance)
  • Good project and modeling skills to represent information in graphical forms that enhance decision-making and communications
  • Ability to multi-task in a high intensity environment. Willingness to transfer knowledge is imperative
  • Ability to deliver on plans, complete next steps and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Multi-Tasking and time management skills are critical
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues to senior management and to trading desk(s)
  • Work well in a time sensitive environment
  • Self-starter, who is willing to ask questions

Skills Desired
  • 5 years of experience in Credit Derivatives Operations
  • Front to Back Fixed Income Credit Knowledge (Products, Confirmations, Lifecycle Event Processing, etc)
  • Experience with Metric and Data Analysis
  • Strong understanding of the Regulatory framework for Fixed Income Derivatives
