Job Profile

Our Production Department is in search of a talented and experienced candidate to join us as a Maintenance Technician.

Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment by observing mechanical devices in operation as well as listening for any problems.

Responsibilities

To succeed in this role, you will work directly with engineers, machinists, assemblers and machine operators and have an excellent mechanical aptitude.

Required Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of industrial maintenance or a similar environment performing comparable tasks as required for this position.
• PLC experience preferred but not mandatory.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Build assemblies of company assets and install as needed.
• Install new equipment according to manufacturer specifications and management requirements.
• Design, implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment and tools.
• Install, maintain, repair, adjust, troubleshoot and inspect equipment and tools.
• Review the need for and request tools, equipment, and supplies necessary to perform duties.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

Skills and Requirements

• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Familiar with electrical aspects and troubleshooting electronics.
• Ability to read blueprints and assembly instructions provided by manufacturers and our engineering department.
• Forklift certification.
• Able to work overtime as required.
• Self-starter and willing to perform other related duties as required.
• Execute with verbal work instructions.
• Excellent communication/comprehension skills.
• Enjoy a challenging work environment.
• Fluent in the English language with excellent written and spoken skills.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and grasping.
• Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) standing and walking.
• Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
• Good eyesight, normal hearing.
• Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 75 lbs.
