What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Entry Clerk position at Morris Products?
JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, performs routine clerical support for functional groups such as copying, distributing mail, performing simple calculations, and maintaining records and files following standard procedures with all work certified or checked. Processing invoices in a timely manner. Act as a customer service agent. May assist with or be responsible for multiple reports, inventory, and purchase of office products. Depending on the sites supported, may assist in office administration, and operations teams with various tasks as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
· Processing invoices. This includes matching up invoices with packing lists and purchase orders to verify we have received all items being billed.
- Enters data from customer-generated purchase orders including part numbers and shipping instructions
- Edits orders received for price and nomenclature
- Informs customer or unit prices and shipping dates via fax/email acknowledgement
· Answer incoming calls and responding to Customer Service enquires as needed.
- Compiles statistics and prepares various reports for management.
· Generating nightly reports
· Other duties as needed
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment, and have a strong attention to detail. Must be a proactive “self starter” who can work well without supervision.
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS
Direction is given by immediate supervisor. May interact with senior management or middle management. Must interact well with team members at all levels, including production workers and general laborers, as well as office personnel.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical non-smoking office environment embedded within a manufacturing facility. May experience periods of seasonal heat or cold depending on facility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have ability to use hands and fingers to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. In addition, must have the ability to move freely throughout the facility without physical limitation, and capacity to sit or stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., and have the ability to bend, stoop and reach.
