Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Person under the direct supervision of the Site Manager of the property, is responsible for the physical maintenance and the general repair of the exterior and interior of the buildings, systems and fixtures within the apartment property. The Maintenance Technician is indirectly under the supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator, District Manager, and Regional Manager.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• The Maintenance Person must have a general working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds work.

REQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Preferred: Trade School and/or military training a plus.

EXPERIENCE

• General working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds work.
• Preferred: Six (6) months experience in apartment maintenance.
• Must have at least six (6) months of verifiable hands-on general maintenance experience (i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpeting, painting, etc.)
• Preferred: One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Maintenance.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid Driver’s License.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES

• Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Must be able to do simple math calculations.
• The ability to use a computer is highly preferred.

PHYSICAL

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Body Positions: Regularly required sitting, standing and walking.
• Body Movements: The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, peripherals, and bending, reaching and crouching.
• Body Senses: He/she must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus. He must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone for long periods of time.

Strength: He/she must have ability to lift up to 75 pounds or more on a regular basis.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
