What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Accountant position at Mortgage Connect?
Overview
As the Sr. Accountant, you are responsible for general ledger accountability as well as daily reviews of all specified bank statements.
This is a hybrid role, with the in-office component based out of our office located in Moon Township, PA.
Responsibilities
- Support the month end close process to ensure timely, accurate and complete recognition of financial transactions.
- Analyze the balance sheet and income statements to help ensure that significant variances are understood, and the financials reflect key financial transactions from the reporting period.
- Process all journal entries, including monthly accruals.
- Reconcile and review the balance sheet accounts to supporting documentation.
- Support financial statement audits.
- Ensure expenses are processed and paid in a timely manner.
- 1099 preparation.
- Daily review of bank activity and ensure all cash transactions are booked in the ledger.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide for a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain adequate and concise documentation to support management and audit review.
- Support and execute an appropriate internal controls environment.
- Actively support and provide technical knowledge to General Accounting projects, providing data analysis and recommendations for process improvement opportunities.
- Assist controller with tasks as needed.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Equivalent Preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience in accounting, including GL, AR, AP
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite
- Prefer experience in SAGE (MAS500)
- 10-Key Proficient
- Clear Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Strong Attention to Detail, Including Data Entry Proficiency
- Ability to Work in Fast-Paced Environment and Meet Deadlines
- Capability to Work both Independently and as part of a Team
- Problem-Solving Mindset with Ability to Multitask
