Role Overview
The Quality Control HMDA Auditor is responsible for ensuring that all reportable mortgage loan data is completed in accordance with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and its implementing Regulation C. This role is fully responsible for the validation, quality, and integrity of all the data that is reported to the government annually for reportable mortgage transactions. The QC HMDA Auditor must exhibit a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times, provide customer service to our internal and external customers, and focus on loan quality and compliance.
Essential Duties
Perform independent testing of information contained in the Loan Application Register (LAR) data fields for accuracy in accordance with HMDA regulatory specifications.
Monitor, analyze, query, and research the HMDA records to ensure the HMDA LAR data fields are accurate.
Prepare a report of finding after data reviews for resolution and distribution.
Work with businesses units to remediate any documentation errors required for the audit.
Research and resolve potential HMDA exceptions.
Participate in the design and development of HMDA procedures, processes, controls, and training programs.
Communicate effectively with operations staff to address any unresolved issues and elevate concerns to Director of Quality Assurance and/or their designee, of any potentially critical issues.
Compare resolution results from the Business Unit data integrity audit to the agreed upon corrective action plan to ensure all risks have been effectively mitigated.
Manage time efficiently and prioritize workloads to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple tasks.
Must stay current on all agency, state, and federal guidelines, and participate in on-going training as the mortgage industry evolves.

Complete other duties or projects, as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 1-2 years mortgage experience, HMDA auditing background or testing familiarity preferred
Proficiency with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) knowledge of Byte Loan Origination System (LOS) and Enterprise is a plus
Ability to adapt quickly to other information systems
Ability to work as part of a team and/or independently
Extremely detail oriented
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask in a fast pace and stressful environment
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Professional appearance (business casual)
Professional, courteous, friendly demeanor and excellent phone etiquette
Ability to follow directions and perform work accordingly
Must be able to pass background check
Physical Requirements
Stationary position; prolonged periods at a desk and working on the computer.
Occasional movement about inside the office to walk to offices and office machinery.
Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, stooping, bending, standing, reaching.
