Job Description: Client Services Specialist
The Client Services Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining communications resources, documents, systems, and procedures for MOSA clients and prospective clients. The Client Services Specialist also helps develop educational resources, assists with outreach and events, and works with the Client Services Coordinator to provide direct customer service support tasks (phones, emails). The Client Services Specialist is a part of the client services team, who are responsible for education, communications, events, partnership development, and marketing.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications:
- Serves on the newsletter editorial team and helps plan, organize, write, and edit content for electronic and print publications (MOSA Organic Cultivator & MOSA eNews)
- Helps develop and execute the marketing plan(s) for new MOSA clients, retaining MOSA clients, and for staff and contract staff recruitment
- Assists with planning, and with content creation and development for educational and marketing materials to include:
- Marketing brochures
- Website Content
- Fact Sheets
- Social Media Posts
- YouTube Videos
- PPT Presentations
- Press Releases
Professional organic outreach and education representative of MOSA:
- Organizes and implements conference and tradeshow sponsorships and booth strategies
- Staffs MOSA conference and tradeshow booth
- Speaks at events as needed
- Implements public relations and industry relationship strategies
- Plans and executes client meetings and/or trainings
- Helps develop a “Speakers Bureau” resource guide to promote MOSA staff as professional presenters to conference organizers
Prospect Support and Development:
- Responds to questions regarding organic certification requirements and the application process
- Creates and maintains prospective client accounts
- Maintains complete documentation of all client communications in MOSA’s database
- Provides outreach to clients and prospects as needed
Client Support and Development
- Maintains a strong understanding of the following:
- USDA National Organic Standards and MOSA Certification Policy
- Current issues concerning the organic industry
- Partners, resources, and supporting businesses and their role in the organic industry (NOP, ACA, OMRI, NOSB, OTA, Organic Associations, state agencies, etc.)
- International organic regulations
- Supports the unique educational needs of clients through their first year of certification
- Assists clients with general questions regarding markets, recordkeeping, organic farm systems and strategies, industry resources, annual certification updates, electronic recordkeeping (MyMOSA), and other information, but excluding decision-making related to the material input, review, and compliance processes
- Attends annual client meetings (on location in our service states and regions)
Skills and Qualifications
- College-level degree or two years equivalent work experience or training in an applicable field
- Marketing & Communications education, training, or experience
- Understanding of and/or willingness and ability to learn the National Organic Standards and MOSA’s certification review policies and procedures
- Practical experience in agriculture (preferably organic) and/or the food processing industry
- Professional writing, editing, and content management experience
- Social media and website content management experience
- Educational content development experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance
- Strong interpersonal skills and an interest in working with a diverse client demographic
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to produce high-quality, detailed work while meeting deadlines
- Excellent reading comprehension and problem-solving skills
- Organizational, time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency in Google Suite, word processing, databases, and Internet research
- Understanding and experience with website content creation software, search engine optimization, and online advertising
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform computer work for long periods of time
- Occasional travel to industry and client events and booth staffing
- Ability to transport equipment up to 25 pounds at industry events

Salary : $57,400 - $63,800
