- This position provides superior quality, competitive value, and outstanding service and is primarily concerned with analysis of accounting records, and internal control functions over financial information of Mosaic Life Care. Additionally, this position will support Lead and Senior Accounting Analysts as required for application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to the organization's accounting and statistical records, and reconciliation and review of general ledger asset and liability accounts. This position performs work that is varied and somewhat difficult in character, with limited responsibility for recommendations and decisions.
- This position works under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
- Remote work is permitted in the following states: Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.
- Review adjusting journal entries prepared by Associate Accounting Analysts, Accountant IIs and others on a monthly basis.
- Prepare schedules and journal entries as needed including for more complex areas.
- Prepare/review designated balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis. The Accounting Analyst will handle certain complex reconciliations.
- Analyze and evaluate operating expenses, variances and trends as part of month-end financial close. May also support vendor analysis during close.
- Assist in compiling and reviewing key performance indicators as part of month-end close.
- Provide training and assistance to the Associate Accounting Analysts, Accountant IIs, Accountant Is and other staff.
- All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required.
- 4 years of progressive accounting, auditing and analysis experience required. 3 years of intermediate Excel skills - pivot tables, multiple criteria Lookups, nested logical IF formulas, 10,000 row data files required.
