The Lobeck Taylor Operating Foundation (LTOF) is an operating foundation funded by the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation (LTFF). LTOF programs include Mother Road Market, Kitchen 66, Shops at Mother Road Market, and Tulsa Startup Series. LTFF performs complementary grantmaking work to LTOF’s programs, which increase economic activity and the equitable growth and development of 11th Street between Xanthus Ave. and Birmingham Ave. and surrounding neighborhoods in Tulsa.

The Mother Road Market Retail Manager is an exempt, salaried position with bonus opportunity and a competitive benefits package, including company paid health and dental insurance. The salary range starts at $39,000 commensurate with experience, and will report to the Campus Director.
The MRM Retail Manager is a creative, energetic and friendly team member who supports all aspects of the retail pipeline at Mother Road Market. This includes booking and day-to-day execution and logistics for retail programs including; The Vault pop-up venue and LTO|MKT, a limited-time only market, as well as partnering to support the Info Booth, MRM Kiosks, Shops at Mother Road Market and E-Commerce. The Retail Manager is also responsible for promoting the mission of Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation and its programs to the community and serving as a representative of the company to fellow tenants and guests. The Retail Manager must be able to build rapport with guests quickly and provide excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research, curate and identify brands, merchants, artists and makers to build a network of future leaseholders for The Vault and LTO|MKT that align with the LTFF’s creative and DEI strategies.
- Facilitate partner relationships from initial outreach, fielding questions, confirming details, and requesting feedback post-takeover and facilitate smooth transitions between retail popups.
- Build and update sales and marketing materials in collaboration with the internal communications team and partner on merchant takeover press days, grand openings, and photography sessions.
- Track and report sales performance of retail program participants to internal stakeholders using established tools and methods.
- Facilitate and manage booking process and scheduling - populate and send contract and liability waiver form via Docusign, facilitate deposit and remaining balance payments, obtain sales tax permit number and promotion information, send follow-up survey.
- Create and document merchandising best practices for Info Booth and e-commerce
- Alongside the Art Director, lead the physical setup and layout of retail spaces inside Mother Road Market to include the Info Booth, LTO | MKT and pop-up spaces
- Collaborate with the communications team to identify e-commerce items and build a strategy for e-commerce sales on a quarterly basis and ensure that products are successfully uploaded to the Shopify platform.
- Build a toolkit for merchants e-commerce support.
- Collaborate with the events team to develop and execute retail-focused activations on the MRM campus.
- Coordinate with the internal accounting team for merchant and e-commerce payout as well as for monthly inventory.
- Train and manage contract/hourly employees on products, processes and goals for LTO and serve as the emergency stopgap in clerk staffing for LTO/LTFF retail spaces.
- Receive, fulfill and ship all e-commerce orders in a timely and efficient manner with a high attention to detail ensuring order accuracy.
- Responsible for restocking and merchandising shelves to ensure that the store and Info Booth look beautiful for our guests.
- Manage and facilitate relationships with retail merchants and Shops at Mother Road Market tenants in partnership with the Campus Director.
- Participate in daily and weekly meetings with MRM management and LTFF staff as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience in the retail industry, public relations, community engagement, or related field, or 4 years experience in related fields.
- Experience engaging with vendors and customers required
- Hands-on experience setting up retail spaces both in-store and online strongly preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively to guests and leadership.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite, preferred.
- Experience with Toast, Shopify and Shopify e-commerce, preferred.
- Must be able to traverse a large space quickly, navigating through doors and on stairs with items related to role.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times
- May be required to work occasional night and weekend hours to ensure that needs of the business are met.
