Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Assembly GAP Leader’s role is to protect the GAP from variation. The GAP Leader knows the workstations well, contributes his/her experience to the group, and steers the GAP towards its objectives. The GAP Leader’s work focuses on production, HSE, quality, training, and performance. Responsibilities include those outlined below as well as other tasks as assigned by the Company.
HSE/Code of Ethics & Management:
- Verify HSE systems work properly, and area is safe.
- Involved in risk assessment and HSE instructions
- Support commitments established in the ISO 14001 Environmental Policy
- Conform to requirements established in Plant ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure GAP members conform to relevant EMS requirements.
- Be committed to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Company’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
Ensure Standardized Work:
- Check Standardized Work in detail
- Use Standardized Work to coach and improve operator performance
- Train operators who are newly assigned to workstations, helping them attain quality and productivity standards using the polyvalence standard.
- Audit Standard Work daily
· Operators with daily production duties.
· Other duties as assigned
Ensure Quality:
· Ensure proper application of the 8 Quality Basics
- Initiate QRCI Activities for the GAP
- Analyze and rework product defects
Produce parts:
- Replace missing operators
- Reinforce the line (n, n 1)
· Flexible working schedule
Improve work processes:
- Coach operators to improve GAP’s performance
- Encourage improvement ideas and help implement ideas
- Liaise with Support Functions to solve problems - root cause
- Obtain data and lead GAP’s problem-solving activities
Coordinate work within the GAP area:
- Work with supervisors to rotate operators between workstations and ensure proper polyvalence levels are kept.
- Prepare/assist/perform line changeovers
- Lead daily TOP 5 meetings and end-of-shift debriefings
- Update indicators and GAP Board
- Perform daily and weekly Performance Measurements
- React in case of problems
· Maintain 5S standards and follow local health & safety regulations
Professional Experience
· 2 years minimum experience
· High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong people skills
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and co-workers
- High level of accuracy and precision to ensure safety and high-quality output
- Strong ability to organize while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability
- Minimum basic skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Outlook);
- Ability to enter data accurately & handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- HSE, quality, production, team oriented & solid math skills
- Satisfactory company work records, including attendance
