What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll-HR Administrator position at Motion & Control Enterprises?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll/HR Administrator oversees payroll processes for the organization. They will serve as the Plan administrator for certain employee benefit plans and be a contributor on HR team projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepare and process a biweekly, multi-state payroll for 500 exempt and non-exempt employees including the entering of payroll data such as new hires/terminations, bonus and commission figures, benefit deductions, garnishments, and all other employee changes
- Maintain the integrity of all data within the payroll system by regularly updating, auditing, and making necessary changes
- Ensure company compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, wages,
- Serve as the administrator of the 401(k) Plan, as well as providing oversight of the administration of company benefit plans
- Tracking and maintain benefit invoicing
- Monitor the electronic timekeeping system; communicate with and provide support to management
- Take charge of all questions and requests related to payroll
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Work with auditors as needed by preparing and providing information and answering questions
- Work on various HR projects
- Maintain employee personnel files
- Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position does not require supervisory
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- 5 years payroll and tax experience
- Experience with Paycom a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present data and interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- Solid understanding of payroll; well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
- Excellent skills in judgment and ability to respect, protect, and maintain highly confidential information
- Attention to detail that demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness resulting in a quality work product
- Strong work ethic that includes dedication and consistently being at work and on time
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proficient with MS Office Products: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements for this position are typical for a sedentary office environment including considerable time spent in a stationary position, at a desk using a computer terminal and keyboard. Movement about the office and standing are required occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position is typical for an office including protection from weather conditions and typical office equipment noise.
