Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hydraulic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work under supervision to fabricate, modify, and assemble hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. You will apply fluid power theory and related knowledge to build operational industrial hydraulic systems and applications, ensuring high standards of quality and precision.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- System Assembly: Follow diagrams and drawings to build and assemble standard hydraulic power unit systems, sub-assemblies, and components.
- Fabrication: Fabricate external hardware required for hydraulic systems, including framework, brackets, fixtures, and panels.
- Tube Bending: Perform basic tube bending and soldering to prepare, assemble, and install various types of industrial tubing for pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, and electrical applications.
- Hydraulic Schematics: Read and interpret hydraulic schematics to ensure accurate assembly.
- Tool Operation: Operate various cutting and machining tools, such as saws, mills, lathes, grinders, shears, brakes, and plasma cutters.
- Hydraulic Hose Assembly: Assemble, build, measure, cut, crimp, and test industrial hydraulic hose.
- Certification: Obtain certifications on applicable products, such as Parflange, hose crimping, PTAC, MIG, and/or TIG welding.
Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. An associate degree or technical training in a related field is preferred.
Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, or fluid power applications.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics or controls.
- Understanding of hydraulic system electrical controls and their applications.
Skills
- Ability to work with basic hand and power tools.
- Learning MIG and TIG welding.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, fractions, measurement, and percentages.
- Qualification testing as required to comply with current industry standards.
