Position Title: Process Technician
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Work Location: Maplewood Facility - Holland, MI
We have an exciting opportunity at our Maplewood Facility for a hands-on leader with problem solving capabilities to take Motus to the NEXT level. The Process Technician will be responsible for setting up, diagnosing, and maintaining process controls on all equipment in either the Thermobond or Polybond department while supporting the production lines’ performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor net production for accuracy and efficiency, including collaboration with quality department to ensure part meets all quality and performance specifications
- Complete all required process checks prior to initiation of production
- Ensure all work cells are correct for the respective after tool change (Robot EOA, rail widths, guide widths, etc)
- Assist with process changes as necessary
- Support engineering team with the identification of root causes for scrap defects and with the implementation of interim and permanent corrective actions for the reduction in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
- Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems regarding process, equipment, tooling, and materials
- Recommend improvements and support company continuous improvement initiatives/kaizens
- Support Process/Quality Engineer in resolving product non-conformity issues found at the customer
- Ensure a tidy workspace around the equipment and technician toolbox area
- Responsible for promoting a safe work environment and preventing injuries through 5S
- Support shift supervisor with the capturing of downtime events, assist with clarification of reasons for missed hourly goals
- Take on additional tasks as assigned by Engineering Manager or Process Engineer responsible for area
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree or Technical Degree preferred
- 2 years’ experience in a technical environment/role
- Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures
- Ability to be trained and certified in Powered Industrial Truck (hilo) training
- Ability to be trained and certified to use an overhead crane
- Ability to be trained, certified and use lockout tagout procedure properly
- Demonstrated leadership skills
