Job Posting for School Age Daycare Teacher at Mount Carmel Child Enrichment Center

Summary

Mount Carmel CEC is a church based, state licensed daycare facility that serves children from 30 months old through 12 years old and works hard to care for families and teach Jesus. We are looking for a Christian early childhood educator to serve as a lead teacher/ program director for our School age program. During the school year, this person will be responsible for leading our after school program for School age children, as well as serving as a floater in the morning for our Preschool aged program. During the summer, this person will be responsible for leading our 10 week, full day Summer Camp program for school aged children.


Duties

Teachers are responsible for:

  • lesson planning for School Age children, both in an afterschool setting and in the full day Summer camp setting
  • supervision and care of children in accordance with local and state regulations
  • basic sanitation practices
  • planning appropriate field trips and events for our Summer camp program
  • assisting fellow teachers to create a team environment
  • fostering a Christian environment, including leading the children in prayer and Bible study

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • is willing to share their testimony of what it means to be a Christian and when they first trusted Christ
  • has either an associate's degree in early childhood education or similar educational level
  • someone with 2 years of experience in childcare
  • is able to pass an NC Criminal Record and Background check

Nice To Haves

Experience with school age children is a plus, along with the completion of the Basic School Age Care class.
