Position Objective:
RWC Crew Member position works with the RWC Admin Coordinator and the Facilities Services Manager to assist MHA as a whole, providing maintenance, rejuvenation, and inventory for all RWC facilities to ensure clean and aesthetically pleasing facilities that enhance rather than distract from the program in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.
General Qualifications:
The Redwood Camp (“RWC”) Crew Member is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Work with Facilities Services staff to maintain clean and sanitary facilities.
- Assist in the cleaning of all RWC facilities.
- Provide maintenance of RWC grounds.
- Assist with special projects and tasks as provided.
- Inform Facilities Services Manager regarding necessary repairs as well as maintaining inventory and reporting facility equipment and repair needs.
- Assist with program responsibilities like leading activities, recreation, crafts and skits, when Crew duties are not required (typical Crew duties are Sundays-Fridays 5-10pm).
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
- High school graduate; college experience.
- Current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
- CPR/FA certification required.
Work Experience:
- Custodial work experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Love for youth of all ages is essential; capable of providing strong Christian role model.
- Ability to work with a team and lead with good judgment and decision making abilities.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Must be punctual and responsible individual.
- Must exhibit great interpersonal skills with people of all ages.
- Ability to articulate gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
- Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.
- Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.
- A heart to serve whenever needed.
Physical Demands:
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- Position requires constant walking and climbing up and down stairs (up to 7.5hrs per day). Additional requirements include sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, reaching, bending.
- Ability to perform specific functions of job.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living.
- Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
- Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
- Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
