Title: Executive Pastor
Reports to: Sr. Pastor and/or his designee
Purpose of Position:
The Executive Pastor will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Senior Pastor’s ministry vision by supporting him in the accomplishment of Mount Moriah Church's (MMC) mission through ministry effectiveness, discernment, decision making, planning, and overall direction of the church staff and volunteers.
Primary Responsibilities:
This position will manage MMC’s operations, strategic planning, administration, finances, and human resources to achieve its mission and vision. The Executive Pastor will be instrumental in leading, developing, and supervising MMC staff to include ministers, ministry leaders and deacons. Responsibilities will include outreach, arts, pastoral care, student, and children’s ministry areas as well ensure members of different ages and from diverse backgrounds are served effectively in both the on-campus and on-line environments.
To ensure success in this role, this individual will need to perform a wide range of duties and must have a proven track record of effective leadership, judgment, and above reproach character.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee on-campus and online church operations
- Lead, oversee, and facilitate regular staff meetings and trainings
- General understanding of ministry context with strong communication planning skills
- Guide and promote positive interactions between the Senior Pastor, ministers, deacons, ministry leaders and other staff members
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and ministers regarding ministry administration and implementation of the mission and vision of the church
- Oversee human resource operations, and collaborate with the Senior Pastor and board of directors to hire, realign, transition, and dismiss staff
- Provide input regarding the annual budget and budgetary needs
- Oversee financial, budget, grants, and fundraising operations
- Assist staff with managing ministry budgets
- Work with division leaders to manage communications, advertising, online ministry, and community events and activities
- Review, create, manage, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines and laws
- Facilitate the annual strategic planning process including evaluation of ministry performance; review of mission, vision, and core values; development of key objectives and tactics; and establishment of short-term and long-term goals
- Establish and maintain a set of key performance measures (KPMs) that provide the Senior Pastor and church staff with ongoing visibility of the effectiveness of all functional areas of the church
- Develop annual financial plans that fund the accomplishment of the strategic plan and meet critical financial objectives such as established cash reserve levels
- Work with facilities staff to champion the development and maintenance of MMC’s infrastructure that supports long-term growth and community involvement
- Lead MMC’s building programs including capital fundraising campaigns, master planning, design and architecture, contractor selection, and construction
Executive Pastor Required Qualifications:
- Evident relationship with Jesus Christ
- Master of Divinity, MBA or related field required, D. Div. or D. Ministry strongly preferred
- 5 years of relevant ministry experience required
- 3 – 5 years of leadership experience required
- Proficient with various technologies such as QuickBooks, MS Office Suites, and social media preferred
- Proficiency with Macintosh based software and equipment a strong plus
- Demonstrated biblical leadership skills preferred
- Outstanding organizational skills and solution oriented
- Strong people skills and team player
- Proficient multi-tasking skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $51,000.00 - $71,616.00 per year
