Job Overview
This is a full-time position. The Bookkeeper will work closely with existing office staff, the
Superintendent, and the Finance Committee.
Responsibilities and Duties
Will include a combination of the following dependent on experience.
1. Manage Accounts Receivable
a. Reconcile all bank account statements monthly and manage all General Ledger Journal entries.
b. Deposit and track all funds received for Student Activity Fund (SAF).
c. Make appropriate transfer of funds from Capital Funds to Operational Funds or vice
versa.
d. Submit delinquency reports to the Treasurer indicating the amount owing and to
whom delinquency letters are sent.
e. Record Association Membership fees.
2. Manage Accounts Payable.
a. Pay General Fund invoices promptly and file all invoices appropriately. Any
expenditure (check) in excess of $1,500 from the SAF account must have
authorization from the Superintendent.
b. Manage reimbursements.
3. Serve on the Finance Committee
4. Report significant over-budget expenditures and major fund transfers to the Finance
Committee.
5. Submit monthly statements on hard copy of transactions and balances on all accounts
on the school’s operational and capital budgets, both income and expenditures.
6. Report to the IRS and CSI as appropriate. Complete and submit Form 990 to the IRS and
other financial reports as needed.
7. Must sign a confidentiality agreement and maintain confidentiality.
8. Complete appropriate paperwork and maintain records related to Federal Grant
programs accessed by MVCS.
9. Maintain bank communications and records. a. Be a signer on bank account
10. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
Qualifications
1. Commitment to MMVCS and its mission.
2. Demonstrate and maintain proficiency in Quickbooks, Excel, and other relevant
software.
3. Appropriate organizational and communication skills.
4. Ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with faculty and staff.
5. Prior accounting experience is preferred.
