What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Underground Coal Miner / Equipment Operator position at Mountain Laurel/Mingo Logan?
Responsibilities Include:
- Be an active participant in the company's Behavior Based Safety Process.
- This person is a multi-skilled equipment operator who has the abilities to, and is fully skilled and qualified to operate (at various times on an as needed basis) either a continuous miner, roof bolter, shuttle car, or scoop in a safe, productive and efficient manner.
- Additionally, this person may be required to perform non-equipment operator tasks and duties such as shoveling, building/maintaining ventilation controls, assisting in various maintenance and repair duties on mine equipment and other manual related tasks and duties as needed.
- Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State coal mining regulations and Company policies, procedures, and rules.
- The employee must be able to follow specific instructions while maintaining acceptable established standards of work performance and conduct, show the necessary and consistent energy, as well as acceptable mental and physical dexterity, for the satisfactory completion of the essential duties as summarized and defined.
- The employee must exhibit acceptable interpersonal skills and the continuous ability to work in a team oriented atmosphere.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Most possess a West Virginia Underground Coal Miner Certification.
- Minimum of (2) years of underground mining experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to safely and efficiently operate at least (3) pieces of underground equipment.
