Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Housekeeper to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY: The Housekeeper is responsible for the day to day cleaning of all areas of the facility. This includes cleaning surfaces, disposing of trash, disinfecting equipment, and stocking and laundering the linen and housekeeping supply closets.

Please note benefits are based on eligibility according to full-time, part-time or PRN status classification.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. Follows proper procedures for Category I tasks (Standard Precautions for Infection Control).
2. Maintains general cleanliness of all areas assigned to:
a. “Dry” tasks: dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash, replacing paper towels, toilet paper, etc., and other duties.
b. “Wet” tasks: disinfecting equipment, beds and gurneys, mopping, cleaning porcelain fixtures (sinks, toilets, etc.), cleaning glass windows, doors and mirrors and other duties.
c. Stocking clean linen supply carts and collecting dirty linen.
d. Stocking housekeeping closets and maintaining them in a clean and orderly fashion.
3. Maintains all housekeeping equipment and supplies in proper condition taking care to prevent damage. Reports any malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
4. Is able to perform housekeeping functions in all departments as needed, regardless of primary assignment.
5. Handles trash appropriately in appropriate bags and follows established procedures.
6. Maintains a responsible attitude toward appropriate and efficient performance as an employee of the facility as evidenced by team work and attitude.
7. Demonstrates personal responsibility for fulfilling assignments/tasks effectively and completely.
8. Continually strives to work in the most cost-efficient manner possible.
9. Demonstrates a willingness to comply with assignments from Department manager
or supervisor with regard to hours worked and assignments made.
10. Always extends courtesy and an attitude of cooperation while communicating with others.
11. Supports facility policy and assists in the process of policy change.
12. Demonstrates a loyalty to the philosophy, policies and practices of the facility.
13. Performs duties as assigned with specific attention to the cleaning procedures of that individual department.

Qualifications
Education/Certifications: High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Experience: Minimum one year experience in institutional housekeeping preferred. Basic computer skills are helpful
Equipment/Technology: Be able to utilize basic cleaning equipment (vacuum, etc.).
Language/Communication: Must be able understand oral instructions and requests given in English. Understanding written English instructions is helpful. Not required to speak English.
Mathematical Skills: General mathematics
Mental Capabilities: Able to follow written and oral directions to an understanding level such that the hazards presented from the chemical, waste and infection control exposures are understood.
Interpersonal: Able to communicate with patients, staff and supervisors in an effective manner
Performance: Able to follow written and oral instructions.
