JOB SUMMARY:
The Respiratory Therapist under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Director, is responsible for providing Cardiopulmonary Care Services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, department policies and procedures.

Education/Certification: Has current state Respiratory Therapist licensure. Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Therapy. Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation certification. Has BLS, PALS and ACLS certification.
Experience: Three or more years of previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services.
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge. Ability to use ABG machine, ventilators, EKG, IS (incentive spirometer) and C-PAP devices. Ability to perform chest PT.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of additional languages preferred. Needs strong written and verbal skills.
Interpersonal: Has the ability to interact with patients and families to provide an exceptional care experience.
