Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Assistant to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY:
The nuclear medicine assistant is an MA/procedural tech that provides support for the nuclear department. He/She will work under the direct supervision of the senior nuclear medicine technologist and will perform basic departmental tasks relating to patient care, quality control checks on instruments, radiopharmaceuticals, and some imaging procedures. A nuclear medicine assistant uses specific age and culture-related physical intellectual, physiological, and developmental attributes in assessment of planning, education of patient, implementation and evaluation of patient care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs basic patient care related to successful completion of selected imaging procedures. This includes verifying that all pre-test conditions are met, performing, explanation, positioning, and acquisition.
2. Delivers excellent customer service.
3. Understand patient imaging procedures, preparations and acquisitions.
4. Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during procedures.
5. Perform follow up charting and filing of patient’s results and department dictations, faxing reports, billing procedures, answer phones, call patients, and patient transport to and from the department.
6. Maintains flexibility as the department grows, with a willingness to accept additional responsibilities requested by department manager.
7. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
8. Completes all annual mandatory education requirements (including hospital, department, and job specific competencies).
9. Attends the required number of staff meetings per department standard.
10. Adapts to change in a positive and professional manner.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years of age or older. Current BLS certification is required.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience, patient care experience is preferred.
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge.
Language/Communication: Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
Mental Capabilities: Ability to problem solve and handle stressful situations.
Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others.
