Woodstock Union High School and Middle School is a rural school in central Vermont serving about 500 students in grades 7-12. We seek the next Music/Band Instructor to lead our beloved program. This is a flexible position with room for growth based on the candidate's experience, creativity, and passion. Project-based learning and field research are valued and will be supported by the school community.
Educators have curricular freedom, and we encourage different ways of knowing, learning, and teaching that create vibrant classroom experiences. The ideal candidate has the following strengths and interests: MS Band gr 7-8, wind, brass, and percussion players with one or more years of elementary experience.HS Band gr 9-12, wind, brass, percussion, and occasional orchestral string players. Digital Music Production based on digital instruments with MIDI input.Pep Band/Marching Band experienceJazz Band History of annual performances: Two formal concerts with HS and MS Bands.Option of attending adjudicated festival performances.Commencement performance and two small-town parades with combined HS and MS Bands.Performs PEP music at school Assemblies.Many other less formal yet meaningful and exciting performance opportunities exist on campus and throughout the community.
