What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting/Human Resources Assistant position at Mountz Jewelers?
We are looking for a reliable Accounting/Human Resource Assistant in Accounts Payable & Receivables, and Human Resources that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines under the supervision of the Director of Operations. An effective assistant has good knowledge of accounting principles. You must be an organized professional with a great eye for detail. You must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively. The goal is to contribute to keep the accounting, financial and human resources processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and controls.
Responsibilities
- Support most aspects of accounting management (accounts payable, tax remissions, reporting etc.)
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
- Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
- Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
- Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records
- Perform HR administrative duties including benefits facilitation
- Maintain proper records of employee attendance and leaves
- Assist Director of Operations in policy formulation, hiring and salary administration
- Submit online job postings, shortlist candidates and schedule job interviews
- Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries
- Perform bi-weekly payroll and ensure timely hours recordkeeping
Skills
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations
- Good knowledge of accounting and financial processes
- Understanding of human resources policies, procedures and regulations
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks)
- Well-organized with ability to prioritize
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Associates degree in accounting, finance or relevant field is preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
