Controller

ON BEHALF OF AN M&S CLIENT

We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to join a manufacturing company in Lake Bluff, IL.  In this role, you will demonstrate your expertise in financial statement analysis and departmental accounting processes.  To succeed in this position, you will manage the appropriate operations and procedures of the accounting team and uphold the firm's exceptional reputation.

Accountant Duties and Responsibilities

• Overall day-to-day management of the accounting and finance functions.

• Review monthly financial statements including month-over-month variance analysis and / or actual-to-budget analysis.

• Analyze and interpret financial information and provide actionable insight and decision support.

• Continuously identify opportunities to enhance operations and make suggestions for procedural improvements.

• Understand the technology stack and identify additional add-on processes, systems, modules, and integrations that can drive month-end close efficiencies.

• Define and document repeatable methodologies with appropriate tools and templates that can be leveraged for future projects.

• Leverage technology to automate internal processes to improve efficiency.

• Manufacturing industry experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field required

• Minimum 2-years' experience as a Controller

• Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases

• Superior math skills and an analytical mind

• Consistent, accurate, thorough, and detail-oriented

• Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers

• Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

• Polished phone and email etiquette

• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment

Nice to Have

• Public accounting experience

• Corporate and personal tax experience is a plus

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

Salary : $99,600 - $126,000
