Gate Attendant

Moynihan Lumber is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented part-time gate guard to oversee customer load verification at our facility. The ideal candidate will possess substantial knowledge of lumber products and will be primarily responsible for ensuring that customer loads match purchase details accurately.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers entering and exiting the lumber yard and direct them to loading and unloading areas as necessary.
• Verify that the quantity and type of lumber loaded into customer vehicles match the sales documentation.
• Ensure all customers receive the correct products and quantities as per their purchase orders.
• Handle discrepancies or questions regarding load contents by coordinating with sales and warehouse staff.
• Assist customers with information regarding product features, loading practices, and safety guidelines.
• Support the yard team in maintaining a safe and organized work environment by monitoring traffic flow and adherence to site rules.

Requirements:

• Proven experience working in a lumber yard or similar environment with extensive knowledge of lumber types and handling practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and staff.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and assisting with load adjustments.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications or certifications in logistics or customer service are a plus.

Work Hours:

• 7am-12pm Monday - Friday, 7am-12pm every other Saturday.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.28 - $22.02 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
• Weekends as needed

• Beverly, MA 01915: Relocate before starting work (Required)
