Our company is growing, and we are in search of an individual with a great work ethic to join our manufacturing team as a Buyer/Planner

What You will be Doing

As a Buyer/Planner you will be responsible for facilitating purchases from outside suppliers to keep production running. Locate key suppliers, negotiate the company's purchasing agreements, and make sure the materials and products meet the company's specifications.

The Buyer/Planner is an salary exempt, hybrid position and generally works 5 eight hour days Monday - Friday.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Procurement;

· Procure goods and services as requested by purchase requisitions/PO# suggestions and obtain quotes.

· Verify all order confirmations received and update PO due dates and pricing when appropriate.

· Become an SME of the procurement process and the MRP/ERP system.

· Research any issues regarding purchase orders with shipping, receiving and invoice discrepancies.

·Process receiving paperwork and maintain appropriate records, files, controls, and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Material Inventory Control

· Under general direction, ensures that production schedules are current and sequenced for maximum productivity and fulfill customer delivery requirements.

· Oversee materials and inventories of assigned locations.

· Assist with evaluating Standard Cost versus Purchase price and make updates when necessary.

· Checks production activity to provide a controlled flow of materials to meet production requirements.

· Regularly monitor and address non-working, slow-moving inventory.

• Basic writing and math skills
• ERP experience preferred
• 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, materials, planning or related field preferably in a manufacturing industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, or related field preferred.
• Proficient computer skills; excel, power point, and MS Business Central/Dynamics.
• APICS or similar supply chain certification preferred.
