What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Laboratory Supervisor position at MP RPO?
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The full time night shift Technical Laboratory Supervisor is the onsite resource for all troubleshooting for lab processes, potential technical issues, and is the go-to resource to provide lab personnel support. This position is responsible to ensure all training and competency assessments are performed by all staff handling patient specimens. In conjunction with the Lab Manager, the Technical Supervisor will ensure all State and CLIA regulatory requirements are met. The Technical Supervisor is responsible for productivity of all infectious disease testing with a goal of providing 100% accuracy in delivering results.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be accessible to testing personnel at all times to provide on-site, telephone or electronic support to resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established either by the Laboratory Director or Sr. Lab manager.
- Demonstrate proficiency while running KingFisher Flex, QuantStudio12K and QuantStudio5.
- Performing specimen processing and PCR reactions as needed
- Is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of high complexity test performance by qualified testing personnel
- Demonstrate proficiency while manually pipetting and preparing solutions.
- Assuring that all corrective and preventative actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
- Provide training and guidance to all testing personnel; and ensure completion of periodic competency assessments
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Biological Science required. MS or PhD preferred.
- Experience:
- 2 years of high complexity PCR experience required.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience required.
- Certifications/Licenses:
- Medical Technologist certification from AAB focusing in Molecular Diagnostics or other equivalent certifications (AMT, ABB, etc.).
- Technical Supervisor Certification
- Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Technical knowledge to monitor lab operations with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to run KingFisher Flex, Veriti Pro, Accufill and QuantStudio 12k & 5 highly preferred!

- Salary Range: $90k - $95k
- Final compensation for this role is determined by a variety of factors, such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certification.
- Lab Location: Onsite role in Clarksville, IN 47129 (10 minutes from Louisville, KY)
