As an MRO Supplies Buyer 1 at MPG Supply Chain Network, you will be crucial in sourcing and managing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies essential for the organization's operational efficiency. You will ensure timely procurement, cost-effective purchasing, and maintaining high standards of supplier relationships to support uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers of MRO supplies. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure favorable arrangements for the organization.
  • Procurement: Source MRO supplies based on operational needs and budgetary constraints. Place orders, track deliveries, and manage inventory levels to optimize stock while minimizing costs and ensuring availability.
  • Cost Management: Analyze pricing trends, conduct cost comparisons, and implement strategies to achieve cost savings in procurement processes without compromising quality or reliability.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of MRO supplies to support maintenance and repair activities. Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess inventory and carrying costs.
  • Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to purchasing activities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders such as maintenance teams, operations managers, and finance departments to understand requirements, forecast demand, and address any supply chain issues proactively.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have a combination of relevant education and experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Alternatively, the candidate may possess equivalent professional experience in lieu of the specified educational background.
  • 1-3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with specific experience in sourcing MRO supplies.
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) is requested.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and supply chain best practices.
