What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Tech (Stellantis Sterling Heights Assembly) position at MPS Group, Inc.?
MPS Group has a position open at (Stellantis) Sterling Heights Assembly for an Environmental Technician (Not Housekeeping/Janitorial position) who will be responsible for handling solid and hazardous waste at the plant.
1st Shift 7:30-4:00pm (Non-Union)
$500.00 Sign on bonus
TYPICAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Collection of recyclables, Hazardous and Non-Hazardous wastes, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the facility.
- Segregate, sort and package waste for off-site shipment in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
- Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment.
- Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
- Clean/maintain organization and compliance of 90-day Satellite Accumulation Area, including sweeping the floor, stacking and labeling drums.
- Assist Project Manager with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids or liquids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal.
- Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization.
- Perform inspections of waste storage areas and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during the inspection.
- Inventory and inspections of spill kits.
- Document and inform Project Manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling and waste containers.
- Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
- Operate forklift to load/unload trucks,
- Operate burden carriers.
- Follow all plant- related safety guidelines.
- Sort and bale recyclable material.

- High School Diploma or,
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education
