What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant I position at Mr. Cooper?
The Accountant I will report to the Accounting AVP Payable Manager within Shared Services. Primary responsibilities include the approving of supplier invoices and supplier changes within our payment system for all business unit(s).
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Vouch invoices, check requests, etc. and code according to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
- Maintain vendor profiles on a consistent basis.
- Assists with preparation of Form 1099 tax filings.
- Assists with escheating payments as per state and company requirements.
- Process weekly Pcard import; including set-up, attach receipts, maintain and terminate Pcards.
- Assists with monthly status reports, and monthly closings.
- Support SOX, Audit and Compliance as required
- Asset Management
- Maintaining UPS/FEDEX/Concur
- Check deposits
Core Requirements:
- High school degree or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1 years of experience in accounting or 1 years in accounts payable
- Mortgage industry experience a plus
- Workday experience a plus
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and focus on accuracy
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent computer skills, especially MS Excel and previous experience using systems to research transactions

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per hour
