Security Guard

Mr. Smalls Theatre is searching for professional, service-focused individuals for Event Security positions to maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions while ensuring the comfort and safety of guests, artists and venue staff.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain safe and Friendly environment for guests, performers, and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Communicating with patrons while explaining rules and regulations.
• Control entry and departure of patrons, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Operate metal detectors devices to screen patrons and prevent them from bringing prohibited items into the venue.
• Enforce rules and regulations throughout the event, evicting violators from premises as necessary.
• Write reports of daily activities or irregularities or unusual occurrences such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons.
• Patrol the venue and surrounding property to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of all entrances and windows.
• Assist guests with special needs, such as alternative entrances for those using wheelchairs.
• Assist in needed maintenance throughout the event such as restocking bathroom supplies, picking up litter and changing garbage can liners.

• Team player, quick thinker with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security and enforcement procedures/protocols
• Surveillance skills and detail orientation
• Position requires long periods of time on your feet (inside or outside, possibly in the elements), constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
