We are currently seeking a motivated Plant Manager for our Delavan location. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations. The ideal candidate will have prior plastics manufacturing production management experience and will play a key role in the success of the organization by driving operational execution of daily production in several key areas of the business: Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Production OEE, Member Engagement, and Continuous Improvement. - Providing effective ongoing and daily leadership, mentoring, guidance and direction to manufacturing operations to ensure plant execution and improvement in core competencies (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery).
- Communicating openly and proactively with the production team to promote a culture of inclusion, empowerment, growth and connectivity for all members.
- Knowledgeable in creating a structured, disciplined approach that is data-driven process oriented.
- Communicating and monitoring key metrics in line with corporate objectives.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Safety:
- Enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and practices.
- Responsible for safety performed in accordance with all safety rules sand regulations. Good housekeeping, 6S program and maintaining an environment, free of debris and hazards.
- Responsible for the execution of quality GMP standards and the delivery of products that meet established product quality determinates.
- Implements procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to the customer and company quality standards.
- Works closely with the Engineering and Quality leaders to ensure the needs of our customers are being met and exceeded while maintaining production levels.
- Establish, communicate, and ensure facility meets and / or exceeds financial commitments.
- Responsible for the financial results for the Production Operations department.
- Review financial and non-financial reports to formulate solutions or improvements to cost control for staffing, production costs and associated constraints with the management team.
- Responsible for the execution of a production schedule to satisfy customer service requirements with respect to time, schedule attainment, productivity, and delivery service levels.
- Maintains contact with the sales department so that customer requirements are effectively met and maximum utilization of plant facilities is obtained.
- Actively drive and play a significant role in the S&OP process.
- Lead a culture focused on continuous improvement, optimization, problem solving and best practices’
- Support the plant continuous improvement process. Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Continuous cost improvement efforts, to include improvements in efficiency to drive towards industry cost leadership.
- Coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor on the preventative maintenance required for operational equipment.
- Work with team members to create responsibility and accountability for job performance. Instill positive change in the day-to-day accountability of each member while instilling the drive to improve.
- Maintains and builds a manufacturing team by leading and managing all Manufacturing / Operations managerial and supervisory personnel.
- Develops annual staffing requirements, budgets, scheduling calendars and daily/weekly/monthly activity objectives are met and / or exceeded.
- Manages temporary staffing levels for the operations to achieve plant objectives for labor efficiency.
- Understands, develop and enforces all policies, procedures and accepted practices.
- Works with the production leadership team and Human Development to oversee retention efforts, hiring / selection, development, recognition, performance management, discipline and attendance.
- Develop and implement succession plans and cross-training for key positions to help the company achieve operational readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or Business with 5 years of progressive leadership in a manufacturing organization.
- Demonstrated capability to lead continuous improvement programs in manufacturing processes and practices.
- Manufacturing leadership in a plastics manufacturing environment required.
- Evidence of credible coaching leadership style with the ability to inspire and lead high performing leaders.
- Excellent communication skills – casual and formal, oral and written.
- Strong PC literacy required (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, TEAMS) and experience with integrated databases.
