MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for a Fault Management Systems Engineer on the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration.
As a Fault Management Systems Engineer you will:
- Understands complex systems, including failure modes and interfaces
- Able to apply model-based systems engineering best practices to developing models of systems
- Experienced with FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, or other fault management design and analysis tools
- Some software experience
- Perform other duties as required
Here's What You'll Need:
Requisition Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Experience with SysML, UML, or other formal system modeling techniques
- Experience with modeling complex cyber-physical systems Experience with one or more of the following:
- Risk assessments
- Fault/failure analysis
- Redundancy and fault tolerance
- System health management techniques, prognosis, or fault management frameworks or technologies
- Strong dynamics background
- Experience with mechanical and electrical systems
- Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude
Requisition Preferences:
- Avionics and Software Architecture
- NASA software and systems development standards Proficiency with C/C coding
- Proficiency with Linux
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
