Position Description
The Plant Controller position is accountable for the overall tracking, reporting, integrity, accuracy and completeness of all financial results for all plant operations. The Controller is a key member of the Operations Management team and engages in all aspects of operations to provide timely and comprehensive financial leadership to the Plant Management team. This role is also responsible for the implementation of a new ERP system upgrade (Microsoft Dynamics - Great Plains) to establish STANDARD COST models for tracking and reporting financial data. The position reports to the Director of Accounting.
Key Accountabilities
Financial Reporting and Controls/Compliance:

This role is also responsible for the implementation of a new ERP system upgrade (Microsoft Dynamics - Great Plains) to establish STANDARD COST models for tracking and reporting financial data. The position reports to the Director of Accounting.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for leading the effort to the new Upgrade ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics - Great Plains) and implementing standard costing.
- Tracking and reporting on all plant finance data for operations costing - labor, materials, process, and overall fina
- Balance sheet oversight, and reconciliation.
- Assist in Forecasting & budget planning.
- Perform Material, ingredient, process and labor cost analysis.
- Support continuous improvement, Lean and initiatives.
- Work with the COO and Director of Accounting to improve financial results by identify cost overruns and propose savings opportunities.
- Manage and develop necessary financial reporting and develop cost models to identify cost opportunities and possible CI needs.
Financial Reporting and Controls/Compliance:
- Overall responsibility for the plant operations financial results and delivery of accurate timely results in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company processes/procedures and statutory regulations. Achieves this through working closely with the Plant Management team, Accounting/Inventory Management and Supply Chain teams.
- Work with Plant Management teams to set up standard costing and production yields for financial reporting and costing analysis.
- Provide financial guidance and support to Plant Management with proactive communication of accounting/reporting issues and recommendations.
- Provide guidance/input to Management on key business decisions that enable effective and efficient operations and delivery of cost savings.
- Help lead the effort in establishing and implementing standard costing and reporting and key control procedures and policies and procedures at the plant level working with the plant management team to ensure the overall financial integrity of the plant financial information.
- Provide Weekly/monthly reporting and work with the Plant management team to establish and implement effective and meaningful KPI metrics.
- Maintain open communication with peers and senior management to foster a consistent approach in the financial management of plant operations.
- Work with the management team to Lead the development of the Annual Operating Plan for plant
- Collaborate with the Plant Management Team to identify and recommend process improvements that will deliver financial benefits or mitigate financial risks. Analyze financial data to facilitate decision making process at the plant management level.
- B.S. / B.A. degree in Accounting Prefer MBA
- CPA, CMA or equivalent designation
- US GAAP/IFRS knowledge
- 10 years of Food, Pharma or Consumer goods Manufacturing controller costing experience in plant operations.
- ERP Experience - Great Plains or Microsoft Dynamics prefered.
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives like, Lean, TPM or Six Sigma
