Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 ~ $25.50 USD/hr

Shift: 1st shift

Additional Comments: Contract to Hire position ~ After 90 Days will be under Client Payroll

Preferred Product Knowledge: Cylinder heads and blocks

Job Description:

We are hiring immediately for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Kokomo, Indiana. The QE coordinates the quality audits procedures with line associates, ensuring that quality data and measurement charts are updated and current and determines frequency of quality checks. To be successful in this role you must be comfortable working with heavy parts and have a technical background to support the manufacturing team.

Responsibilities:

• Performs inspection of new products and export products as specified.
• Conducts various quality tests verifying conformance to design and print specifications, using such test equipment as microscopic camera, optical measuring machine, cutting machine, polishing machine, oil filter can opener, torque wrench, specific gravity scale, laboratory oven, thread gage, digital caliper and thickness gage.
• Maintains logs and files (manual and computer) of inspection audits, including product lab numbers, type and quantity of defects and countermeasures of finished goods.
• Conducts periodic inventory of holding area and reports on findings.
• Assists line associates by verifying quality, giving advice, assistance, training and answering questions as needed.
• Verifies the addition of new product prints to the quality files and updates revisions.
• Participates in problem solving groups.
• Performs and/or participates in 5S housekeeping, team activities, dress codes, safety rules and all other applicable company policies and procedures.
• Assists in the training of new and temporary associates, as requested.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Other Information:

In this role, you will be working within an Engine Manufacturing facility. The parts that you'll be working with weigh approximately 30-65 pounds and will need to be reviewed for a variety of defects. This role requires moving between 80-120 parts per day as needed. As a quality engineer you'll have the opportunity to work alongside the manufacturing team to grow within the automotive industry. Product: Cylinder heads and blocks.
