Overview

MSA has an opportunity for a full-time Proposal Specialist in any of our 17 office locations. We will also consider a fully remote working arrangement for the right candidate. The Proposal Specialist prepares and submits winning proposals by working with cross-functional team members to help respond to formal and informal MSA project pursuits.

Responsibilities

The work you may do

  • Review RFPs/RFQs that MSA receives and circulate with necessary stakeholders
  • Prepare proposals, including formatting, layout, technical writing, and proofreading
  • Assist in creating materials, including project write-ups, case studies, resumes, and client presentations
  • Facilitate client presentation preparation
  • Research, write, and update information including project descriptions, resumes, and other qualification materials
  • Maintain up-to-date proposal information in MSA’s DAM, ERP and CRM
  • Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering
  • Read and analyze RFQ/RFPs and edit proposal content for readability, consistency, clarity, and compliance
  • Manage strong working relationships with staff to ensure proposal input is accurate, compelling, and timely
  • Interface with technical professionals in the writing, editing, and publication of various document types
  • Work with Marketing Team to update marketing collateral
  • Manage electronic proposal files and ensure file closeout procedures are followed

Qualifications

What you bringSkills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required
  • Three years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in marketing and/or sales required
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • AP Style experience
  • Previous experience in A/E/C industry or similar strong preferred
  • The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future. We are unable to provide or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role.

  • Paid Parental Leave – Both parents will receive 2 weeks of paid time off and birth parents are eligible for additional paid time off under MSA’s Short Term Paid Leave. The paid 2 weeks of time also applies to adoption and foster care placement.

  • Short Term Incentive (STIP) – This program rewards employees who meet performance goals with a one-time annual STIP payment as a percentage of their eligible compensation — recognition of individual accomplishments and achieving organizational goals. STIP payments are awarded if MSA reaches its corporate financial plan for the year.
