Overview

MSA has an opportunity for a Senior Engineering Technician - Structural to join our bridge team in any of the following offices: Cedar Rapids IA, Des Moines IA, Dubuque IA, Quad Cities IA/IL. This position will work primarily in the field including construction management on bridge replacements and other transportation projects.

Responsibilities

The work you may do

  • Manage and oversee bridge construction operations for projects in northeastern Iowa
  • Project plan & specifications interpretation
  • Complete and submit reports and documentation consistent with current Iowa DOT standards
  • Communicate with clients and engineering staff on the progress of the project
  • Provide record drawings of the projects

Qualifications

What you bringSkills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering technology, Bachelor’s degree Civil Engineering, or related degree required
  • 5 years of prior bridge construction management experience required, with TTCP certifications preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple tasks desired
  • Willingness and ability to travel for projects
  • Desire to work in the field to help projects get built
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as solid personal and team skills
  • This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.
