Responsibilities
- Create detailed CAD part and assembly drawings that support manufacturing, sourcing and approvals documentation needs in accordance with industry and MSA drawing standards. Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), manufacturing methods, and materials to appropriately and comprehensively layout drawing views and specify dimensions, tolerances, fits, surface finishes, and annotations.
- Create exploded view and line art drawings that support customer facing documentation needs including user instructions, parts lists, and repair and service instructions.
- Utilize engineering sketches, specifications and any other data to support the product life cycle for both mechanical and electrical disciplines. Incorporate acceptable tolerances and dimensions as determined for specific capacities, operating requirements, and material selection.
- Prepare drawings using computer aided design tools, of systems, parts or equipment from sketches or marked up prints.
- Recognize discrepancies or errors and seek out alternative solutions for obstacles encountered.
- Consistently meet work deadlines while producing high quality work results and products.
- Document work progress to internal stakeholders to completion using standard process such as RFEA tickets.
- Facilitate new engineering documentation requests, new releases, and engineering change requests in a timely manner in accordance with MSA documentation control processes.
Qualifications
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- 2D/3D Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail is a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills critical
- Ability to prioritize workload based on input from internal customer deadlines
- Proven ability to work well in teams and collaborate across diverse work groups
- Have the capacity to lead small projects to completion
- Associates degree or related two-year technical school degree with an emphasis on CAD
Preferred:
- Experience in drawing tolerances and tolerance stacking
- Experience in SolidWorks in creation of detailed drawings
- Experience in Pro/E is a plus
- Use of Office 365 and Teams
