Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Serves as the director of the Company’s global ethics and legal compliance programs. To that end, the incumbent will maintain the following responsibilities:
- Lead the Company’s global ethics and compliance communications and training programs, including topic selection, curriculum development and delivery, and the ongoing enhancement of a strategic communications plan
- Continually monitor, update and enhance the Company’s Code of Conduct, policies, processes and procedures governing corporate ethics and compliance topics as well as those impacting program governance and administration
- Direct the Company’s global antibribery and anticorruption compliance program, including the continued implementation of associated processes and procedures governing business partner due diligence, gifts and entertainment, conflicts of interest and other topics, while serving as the Company’s principal legal advisor on anti-bribery compliance
- Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of the Company’s global ethics and compliance reporting resources, including the Company’s ethics helpline, while managing all investigations arising under the Company’s ethics and compliance programs
- Lead the Company’s annual processes to assess legal compliance risk, review program effectiveness and audit compliance processes
Serve as the Company’s lead in-house legal counsel for labor and employment law matters. To that end, the incumbent will maintain the following responsibilities:
- Advise the HR organization in the drafting and enforcement of employee agreement governing confidentiality and noncompetition
- Support the HR organization in coordinating response to administrative agencies charges, such as the EEOC, PHRC and others
- Manage outside counsel and coordinate the Company’s response to any employment-related litigation that might infrequently arise
- Partner with the HR organization in the ongoing development, enhancement and deployment of training programs covering workplace discrimination, harassment and retaliation
- Develop subject matter expertise and advise the HR organization on labor and employment law matters in the ordinary course of business
Serve as a key legal services contributor for the Law Department, including the following:
- Serve as the Law Department liaison to the Company’s Asia Pacific and Latin America business regions, providing “first call” support on a variety of legal topics while supporting business leaders in managing local external legal counsel and providing general matter management support
- Provide support to other in-house legal counsel who manage the Company’s data privacy, commercial legal and litigation programs
- Lead and/or support other Law Department initiatives from time to time
Qualifications
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Solid writing, communications, and presentation skills• Project management skills• Proven ability to collaborate and build consensus while working across multiple functions within an organization
• Up to 5% travel
Preferred:
• Solid investigative/interviewing skills
• SAP or other ERP proficiency
Education Required:
• Bachelor's Degree
Preferred:
• Juris Doctor from accredited law school
• Actively licensed member in good standing of the Pennsylvania bar
Experience Required:
• 5 years of legal experience as licensed attorney
• Prior experience managing global ethics and compliance programs
Preferred:
• Prior in-house legal experience
• Compliance experience covering broad topics such as anti-bribery, antitrust/competition, international trade, data privacy, conflicts of interest, and federal whistleblower rules
• EthicsPoint, LRN, GAN Integrity or similar compliance technology application experience
• Legal Tracker or other legal billing software experience
