Your team responsibilities

MSCI is seeking a Vice President in FP&A to drive the Corporate financial planning process, support carbon emissions reduction efforts, support the Corporate Services team, and help manage the Company’s capital at MSCI. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Executive Director for Corporate FP&A in managing several activities across the firm.   This person will work with the finance team as well as the Corporate Responsibility and Corporate Services teams across the different offices and geographies to drive the financial planning process and analytical agenda to enhance decision making among business leaders and firm management by implementing disciplined processes, focusing on relevant financial information and driving accountability. Where appropriate this individual will also participate in the due diligence of M&A transactions and will assist in the implementation of systems developments.

The appropriate individual will need to demonstrate a strong acumen in financial management, financial processes, and business analytics. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced financial manager to play an integral role in enhancing the company’s operating decisions and to become a key member of the finance organization. The position will be based out of the New York office and will report to the Executive Director for FP&A

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Manage & support financial planning processes, including annual operating plan, forecasting and long-term strategic plan Implement and lead regular financial review meetings, and establish framework to report on and focus discussions on key metrics. 
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for the business and provide financial analysis to senior leadership on key business trends and market environment.
  • Report on all operating, income statement, balance sheet and cash flow metrics.
  • Analyze business performance (year-over-year, sequentially, vs. forecast) in various formats to facilitate internal financial discussions or decisions to drive business results.
  • Partner with the Corporate Social Responsibility team in the development of carbon pricing, carbon scorecards, and a carbon investment framework to lower the carbon footprint of MSCI.
  • Provide financial support to the Corporate Services teams managing the Company’s real estate and suppliers.
  • Help manage the Company’s capital, which includes managing the Company’s share buyback programs, dividends, and debt issuances.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities and risks impacting business performance.
  • Support preparation and development of key executive presentations. 
  • Manage process improvement projects to reduce process cycle times, improve financial forecast quality, and enhance information provided to leadership for business decisions.

 

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

 

  • Experience in developing financial forecasts and driving financial execution. 
  • Strong financial analysis capabilities: ability to interpret financial reports and data to understand business performance and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills: comfortable interacting and communicating with executive and senior management levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to develop strong, cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, integrative thinking
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
