Motor-Services Hugo Stamp (MSHS) specializes in the overhaul, repair, maintenance and testing of diesel engines, turbochargers and filtration equipment. As an authorized distributor and service center for the world's diesel engine, turbocharger and equipment manufacturers, MSHS provides extensive service and inventory support. Summary: The Field Service Manager will plan, budget, control, monitor, lead and integrate activities associated with sales and work order processes. She or he will liaise with multiple members of the organization including but not limited to sales managers, suppliers, vendors and manufacturers while leading the effort of packaging solutions to internal and external customers. She or he will directly supervise employees assigned to multiple worksites.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate, direct, and review projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Confer with other management and staff to discuss work specifications, procedures, complaints, and problems.
- Prepare and review work specifications; approve contracts, quotes and cost estimates. Prepare budgets, bids, and direct the negotiation of work order contracts with clients.
- Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients
- Plan and direct the installation, testing, operations, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the work performed in the department, shop and field.
- Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
- Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
Management Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and direction to direct reports in accordance with the organization's strategy, goals, policies and procedures.
- Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, support, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Engineering design knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, atmospheric dynamics, mechanical, and electrical structures, and processes.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including standard applications
- Operations management knowledge and experience of management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations.
- Project management skills that manage time, resources, staff, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Can identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year College or University and ten years related experience.

- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets, printers and scanners.
