Summary:
MSHS requires an experienced mechanically trained technician to be responsible for the repair and overhaul of the precision engineered products that we support. You will be required to strip down, clean and diagnose faults, repair and test units returning them back to the OEM factory standards. Travel to customer site to diagnose faults on the engine is part of this role.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Repair of customer governors, actuators, motors and other equipment in a timely manner and to the highest level of quality
  • Maintain and clean workspaces after use
  • Ensures all hours spent on the job and parts used are accurately entered to the SWO
  • Able to offer opinions on improvements for the workshop

Management Responsibilities
  • No direct reports

Key Performance Indicators:
  • On time completion of jobs
  • Zero warranty returns based on poor workmanship

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Reciprocating or rotating equipment service experience preferable
  • Strong knowledge and skills on troubleshooting, repair and calibration of precision mechanical and hydraulic systems. For example, but not limited to, Outboard 4-stroke engines, gearboxes, or hydraulic sub-systems, governors, actuation
  • Good knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic principles
  • Basic electrical knowledge to include how to read electrical schematics and use multimeters to fault find issues
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office business software, Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English a must, Spanish would be a plus)
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self motivated and responsible team player
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models would be advantageous

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Require a recognized mechanical certificate from a trade school or military training institution or an Associate Degree from a recognized institute in area of specialty and 5 - 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA


Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to stand for long periods and be comfortable with kneeling, stooping and working in cramped and uncomfortable positions is required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and see. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
