ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for the strategy, planning, implementation and day-to-day execution of Quality-owned processes and systems, with the overall goal of improving business results and ensuring quality of products produced. This person plans, executes and delivers against Corporate objectives through the improved use of Quality Systems. The QA Director will champion these processes and systems and will work cross-functionally to ensure they are standardized, accessible and easily understood by all levels of the organization. This person will drive continuous improvement through the organization by using data-driven insights to improve operational capability, ensure product quality, and solve business challenges such as scrap and overuse. This person will utilize “big picture” leadership, operate with a sense of urgency, adopt a start-up mentality and constantly drive best in class thinking with our customer mission in focus.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance Systems Management
Develop and execute strategy to manage and drive continuous improvement of the processes and systems owned by the Quality organization, ensuring system effectiveness and system standardization aligning with corporate conventions

- Standard Operating Procedures/Policies

- Change Management
- Food Safety Plan/HACCP
- Customer Complaints / CAPAs
- Micro Daily Management & Sanitation Effectiveness
- Supplier Certification
- Specification Management
- Formula Control
Continuous Improvement Leadership
Develop and execute strategy to drive continuous improvement processes that meet business objectives through the use of systems such as Safety Chain
- Systems dashboards & reporting
- Data-based opportunity identification and results delivery
- Drive use of industry-standard CI tools to improve business results
- Statistical process control, root cause analysis, focused improvement, etc.
- Work closely with Regional Quality Managers/Directors and Plant Quality Managers to help our facilities develop & execute data-based solutions
- Work closely with Regional Operations Directors and Facility Managers to understand opportunities for improvement based upon Quality Systems information
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE
Minimum Education
- BS/BA degree required
- SQF Practitioner Certification, HACCP Certification, PCQI Certification desired
Minimum Experience
- 10 years of experience in directing Quality Systems teams, Quality with exposure to all major functional areas required
