Fire Protection/LSS/Plumbing QA

MSR-FSR is looking for an experienced Fire Protection Quality Assutance representative to join our team. Previous experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred

Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Plumbing/Fire Protection/LSS QA  will be responsible for the inspection and auditing the installation of fire protection systmes, ensuring supervision of the mechanical project team,  quality,  providing a safe working environment and overseeing QA/QC programs. 

 PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspection and sign off of day-to-day activities of the installation of plumbing, LSS, and fire protection subcontractors, and other discipline subcontractors 
• Manage and abide by all safety protocols 
• Provide resolution to design and constructability issues 
• Respond to customer/client requests and/or issues and develop resolution to problems using technical expertise 
• Must be able to interpret and implement proper installations in compliance with all local authority permitting, codes and site specifications 
• Provide supporting information regarding field conditions and scope for cost estimates. 
• Facilitate contractor activity ensuring performance by all contractual agreements 
• Assist with management project staffing 
• Provide clear communication verbally, written and electronically 
• Work closely with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Standing/Walking/Sitting: Workday is combination of standing, walking, and sitting
• Legs: Must be able to climb stairs - 50% of day 
• Hands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use 
• Vision: Visual acuity in near, mid, and far range. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination 
• Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment 
• Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio 
• Must be able to work independently, make quick and effective decisions, and follow through on all assignments to meet required schedule
• Must use creativity, independent judgment, and organizational and problem-solving skills to determine the best method to accomplish desired results 
• Must be able to plan and organize work efficiently for maximum outcome
• Must possess strong organizational and computer use skills and have an elevated level of competency to read/write/speak English, interpret construction related documentation and communicate with coworkers 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Demonstrate thorough understanding of all aspects of plumbing and fire protection construction
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent craft level work experience  
• Education background in materials and methods of plumbing and fire protection construction 
• A minimum of 5 years' plumbing and fire protection QA and construction experience  
• Extensive experience on large industrial and hi-tech fabrication projects 
• Must be familiar with plumbing and fire protection installations on large mechanical and process equipment, and installations in cleanroom environments 
• Patience and professionalism are essential to being able to maintain a cooperative attitude through pressure situations
• Skills in handling several work activities at once while frequently interrupted by phone calls and urgent questions on work in progress
• Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques
• Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to work closely with project owners, architects, engineers, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Must be a dedicated team player, self-starter, flexible and be able to work well with a variety of personalities and minimal instruction. Must be able to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
