Testing & Balancing Apprentice
Mechanical Systems Testing & Balancing is seeking a hardworking, forward thinking, reliable apprentice to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual looking to get in on the ground floor of our ever-expanding industry. As a TAB Apprentice, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the testing and balancing technicians on assigned projects through observing and participating in all forms of job-site testing & balancing. No HVAC experience is required, as we will train in the field from the basics up, but the ability to think and act mechanically is a big plus.
MSTB will provide all apprentices with NEBB Home Study Course materials as well as several opportunities to attend NEBB training seminars with travel expenses included. The independent study coupled with on-the-job training will support any driven and capable individual on their way to becoming a NEBB Certified Professional.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.
- Drilling small holes in ductwork
- Handling tools, ladders and test equipment as directed
- Participating in coursework on test and balance procedures
- Proactively assisting test and balance technicians on other projects and responsibilities as assigned
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.- Must possess ability to lift 10 pounds and climb ladders.
- Must have access to reliable transportation and possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to maintain a clean driving record.
- Must be punctual, reliable and able to function and work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated attitude, with strong work ethic. Proactive in seeking additional work as appropriate.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and deliver exceptional customer service.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
