Position Summary

The Marketing Campaign Manager works with leaders across the division and the organization to grow and evolve our marketing planning process in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, highly-visible role. This role works to manage content, collateral, and programs to grow awareness and consideration, educate our members, and drive successful marketing campaigns for a variety of business units throughout the credit union.This position approaches business challenges from a strategic perspective that includes thinking outside the box, problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and attention to detail. Must possess a strong project management background to lead high-level marketing campaigns and must be able to set clear objectives while understanding the needs of the business units that require marketing support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing Campaign Manager

  • Execute the annual marketing plan for each product/service using appropriate marketing channels.
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns — including key messaging, positioning, channel allocation, and measurable objectives — in alignment with business goals to increase product/service penetration.
  • Evaluate and develop campaign framework that focuses on driving growth from new member acquisition, upsell/cross-sell, and retention opportunities.
  • Work with department employees and division leadership to create and launch new promotions, campaigns, and projects to support short- and long-term strategic plans of the organization.
  • Manage and oversee development of advertising and promotional campaigns, including concept creation, drafting headlines, writing copy, and working with Creative Services team to bring concepts to life.
  • Manage functional contributions of Specialists and interns to ensure high quality standards and that marketing efforts support company growth and objectives.
  • Simplify and translate strategic priorities, business objectives, and industry trends into comprehensive campaign initiatives that resonate with target audiences.
  • Manage various components of marketing sponsorships and promotions.
  • Respond quickly to product, service, and other opportunities that impact members and potential members.
  • Identify market segmentation, target markets, and list criteria.
  • Research new trends in marketing and maintain knowledge of the most current techniques and practices. Use that knowledge to continue to enhance the marketing of the organization, as well as to enhance and/or improve the workflow efficiency and communication of the department.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing team to better understand message performance and fully optimize messages within relevant platforms and align with varying audiences.
  • Identify opportunities for alignment between integrated marketing campaigns and both internal and corporate communications.
  • Conduct A/B tests to inform future initiatives and drive efficiencies.
  • Lead efforts to ensure measurement and communication of campaign results on a regular cadence across cross-functional teams in order to inform interation of future campaigns; share with business units.
  • In collaboration with Digital Marketing and Business Intelligence departments, analyze campaign results, as well as analytics to identify best target segments, marketing strategies, and tactics to inform marketing plans and tactics.
  • Track all marketing efforts and prepare summary reports for Community Impact Leadership, Executive Team, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and report campaign performance to the team, business units, cross-functional partners, and all levels of leadership.
  • Oversee and support proofing and copy editing, taking responsibility for approvals of marketing materials to ensure consistent brand, quality, and accuracy of information
  • Oversee projects, set deadlines, and monitor and summarize progress of projects on cadence as needed for division leaders.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to execute successful launches and integrated campaigns.
  • Work with and cross-functional teams to drive business objectives.
  • Manage cross-functional initiatives by attending project meetings, identifying appropriate marketing channels, messaging, and timelines, and allocating appropriate resources, supporting project teams, and monitoring and communicating the status to the Community Impact Division leadership.
  • Develop and strengthen working relationships with key individuals and units across the organization and in the industry to support business objectives.
  • Design, execute, and/or facilitate written and/or verbal presentations to and for management and organization employees.
  • Manage expectations of key stakeholders, including business units, through education about marketing concepts, process and tools, media constraints, and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the organization’s community involvement efforts by representing the organization at events and participating on committees and boards.
  • Participate in training activities within your department and with the learning development department; such training helps to ensure staff compliance with organization policies and state and federal regulations and laws.
  • Ensure that all materials comply with federal, state and local regulations and legal requirements.
  • Manage (train, develop, coach, and mentor) a team of specialists and interns to help them achieve their personal and professional goals while supporting the department and organization’s business needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor performance, provides ongoing performance feedback and coaching to direct reports, indirect reports, and others as needed, and conducts performance and development conversations as well as effective performance evaluations.
  • Expect and enables team members to support the work of peers.
  • Provide timely and appropriate communications to VP of Marketing and Communications and to Chief Community Impact Officer.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide research oversight as needed.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive member, team member, and other corporate information.
  • Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned

Senior Marketing Campaign Manager

  • Evaluate and develop campaign strategy and frameworks that focus on driving growth from new member acquisition, upsell/cross-sell, and retention opportunities.
  • Understand how various channels and tactics affect different outcomes.
  • Responsible for building member insight-driven marketing strategies and campaigns for different lines of business

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Marketing Campaign Manager

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or related major required
  •  Minimum of 3 years of related experience; strong preference for experience in financial sectors
  •  Management experience leading a team or equivalent training through management development programs
  • Experience with the following systems and platforms is preferred: Trello, Fiverr, Canto, Getty Images, PowerBI, Microsoft Office
  •  Strong knowledge of and experience applying marketing methodology
  •  Experience in marketing, business networking, and relationship building
  •  Exceptional leadership skills and capability to build consensus and execute common goals among department and the organization
  •  Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to lead effectively across functions
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal across a wide audience
  • Effective project management and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting established deadlines of simultaneous projects
  •  Ability to lead and develop a team
  • Ability to use sound problem solving skills and good judgment to independently resolve complaints and errors
  • Effective project management and budget planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
  • Knowledge of the financial industry services and products as well as organization services and products preferred

Senior Marketing Campaign Manager

  • All of Marketing Campaign Manager knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in marketing; strong preference for experience in financial sectors and not for profit organizations
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience leading a team
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and marketing campaigns
  • Experience independently leading multiple projects across functions
  • Established commitments supporting relevant professional organizations, networks, and communities in which to build or enhance our organizational presence
  • Advanced product management knowledge and budget planning skills
  • Ability to leverage data that informs marketing strategies
  • Strategic mindset to integrate organizational vision into the divisional programs and campaigns

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • May be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to operate standard office technology, equipment and tools, which may include many hours of computer and phone usage.
  • Occasionally needs to move about inside of office area
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous condition, i.e. robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the exposure
  • This position is able to work in hybrid or onsite working arrangements.
