Job Description:
We are looking for an individual who loves Jesus and wants to serve him with his/her gifts and talents in the creative arts. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to work on a team of communication/design professionals in a busy work environment to implement and deliver all communication strategies both internal and external . These strategies will include print media, story writing, website maintenance, and social media platforms.
Responsibilities:
Photograph and edit pictures for Sunday services and all major events of the church.
Create, schedule, and maintain timely posts for all social media platforms.
Create communication strategies to market, inform, and promote teaching series, big events, and other church campaigns as assigned.
Write copy for bulletins, brochures, flyers, and banners.
Review and approve all bulk email/mail messages for style, tone, and content. Prepare promotional/ informational bulk email/mail messages, as needed.
Deliver excellence in timeliness, accuracy, design, layout, and ease of use for all print materials. Maintain content on website and website application in a timely and appropriate manner.
Create, schedule, and maintain timely posts for all social media platforms.
Proof communication department products for grammar, style, punctuation, clarity, and adherence to standards.
Recruit and empower volunteers to deliver excellence in timeliness, accuracy, design, layout, and ease of use.

Responsible for upholding the Biblical priorities and core values of Mt. Horeb while growing in a personal relationship with Christ. Will demonstrate integrity in words, relationships, and actions. These objectives are accomplished by the following:
Carrying out a plan for personal growth and development. Being an active supporter of the ministry of Mt Horeb.
Committing to active involvement in the life of the church.
Qualifications:
Broad working knowledge of marketing, communication, public relations, and media Experience with print and digital media
Team builder and team player who thrives in a fast moving, highly collaborative environment Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize work
Ability to capture events through photographs and edit those pictures for social media
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field
Reports to:
Communications Director
Relates Closely to: Pastors, Directors of Worship, Technical Arts Director, Director of IT Job Status: Full-time (40 hrs./week), Sunday and required occasional night/weekend work
