Job description for dental assistant:
Our well established periodontal practice has a recent opening for an energetic dental assistant. We are looking for a team member who exhibits a positive and enthusiastic personality and is focused on providing exceptional patient care. The right person will be a well organized and self motivated team player with great attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare patient consent forms, pre operative and post operative instructions, and treatment plans.
- Prepare treatment room by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols; setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes and sterile solutions as required.
- Assemble sterile and non-sterile equipment.
- Take dental radiographs and CBCTs.
- Monitor intravenous fluids and vital signs during and after the surgery procedure.
- Chairside assisting during surgical procedures with conscious sedation, new patient exams, and other procedures.
- Provide independent patient care during post operative visits (with doctor supervision), pre surgical consultations, and other procedures.
- Clean operatory after surgery.
- Maintain equipment and instruments by proper care, cleaning, and sterilization.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with OSHA infection control policies.
- Maintain patient data according to regulations and office policies in addition to HIPAA compliance.
- Responsibility (along with RDH) for the appearance and functionality of the clinical area.
Typical hours: approximately 30 hours/week. The practice is open 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday) with hours being: Mon/Wednesday - 07:45-14:30 and Tues/Thurs - 07:45-13:00, 14:00-17:30.
